Conduct Requirements for Admission Applications
All applicants for admission are required to disclose, at a minimum, criminal conviction histories involving acts of violence or sexual misconduct and past or pending conduct charges involving acts of violence or sexual misconduct, and expulsions from secondary or postsecondary institutions as indicated on the ApplyTexas application.
Applicants who report one or more reportable convictions or conduct offenses in the application process will be evaluated by the Dean of Students and a committee. The applicant will be required to submit a criminal background check to the Dean of Students for review. If a notable offense is confirmed, the Dean of Students and a committee will review the applicant’s situation to determine whether the application may be accepted by the university. The application will not proceed until the Dean of Student clears the conduct question.
No letter of admission will be released for an applicant until applicant is deemed eligible for admission by the Committee; however, deny letters will be released.
