The graduate Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Academic Certificate is a 9-hour program open to all majors and professionals. The certificate provides students with the necessary skills to apply GIS effectively and competently in a variety of areas. Students must complete the following coursework to earn the certificate.

An advanced GIS course from another discipline may be substituted for GEOL 5313 with approval from the GIS Academic Certificate Coordinator. The substituted course must require either GEOL 5312 or GEOL 5352 as a prerequisite.
