Forensic Science, Certificate

The undergraduate Forensic Science Transcripted Certificate is a 12 hour program with coursework offered by the Departments of Chemistry and Biological & Health Sciences. It is open to all majors and professionals. This certificate will give students the necessary skills to apply Forensic Science effectively in law enforcement, security, and health sciences.
To qualify for the certificate, students must take four courses, two required and two chosen from among electives. Prerequisites for various courses must be met. Students should contact the department chair or course instructor for information and advice concerning prerequisites.

CHEM 3385, CHEM 4385, and BIOL 4304 are variable credit hour (1-3) research courses. Students may choose the number of credit hours required to meet the minimum of 12 hours needed to complete the certificate. The research project must have a forensic science focus.

CHEM 4381, BIOL 4435, and BIOL 4410 are topics courses. The topic must have a forensic science focus.
